Behind the Brush…
My name is Tialyn, a French illustrator and graphic designer, now living in Quebec.
I grew up in northern France, surrounded by greenhouses and gardens, before setting out to explore the world — its landscapes, colors, and cultures. These journeys shaped me, enriching my vision and inspiring my way of creating.
This is how my passion for illustration was born: to keep a piece of each precious memory alive within me.
At first, I took many photographs, but often they couldn’t capture the full emotion of the moment. That’s when I began painting these places from memory — illustration, with its touch of imagination, brings to life what the heart truly feels.
Through my work, I open windows onto cherished places — real or imagined — where we can pause, breathe, and find calm. I hope my creations become small poetic escapes: fragments of nature that soothe the mind and remind us of life’s gentle beauty.
Plants, trees, and flowers are my guides: they teach me that beauty comes from simplicity, light, seasons, and time. I draw inspiration from gardens and parks around the world, whether famous or secret, vast or intimate — wherever nature invites reflection and wonder.
I work mainly by hand, with gouache, watercolor, pencils, and acrylics, sometimes enhanced with a digital touch to bring out the finest details.
Every project is an exploration — a dialogue between memory, color, and light. Some pieces begin on paper, others on a tablet, but always with the same intention: to preserve the vibrancy of color and the emotion of the moment.
Tialyn is a name given to me by friends in Taiwan, and I adopted it immediately. It means Precious Jade in Chinese — 嘉琳 — a name made of green, light, and nature. It has become a symbol for me: a link between my roots and my travels, between earth and dreams.
Each illustration carries the magic of a secret garden, a small piece of the world that speaks directly to the heart. 🌿
